Best of 2022 Wedding Photography
Flippin’ ‘eck! How the hell has it already been a year since I last posted a ‘Highlights Of The Year’ blog post? Thankfully the tail end of 2022 has simmered down, so I’ve been using that time to clear the backlog of editing, update the website and – of course – lovingly put together another bad-ass slideshow (it’s at the bottom of the page, if you’re feeling impatient!).
At the start of every year, I always tell myself that I need to post something on Facebook and Instagram at least once a week to keep you updated on what I’m doing. As usual, I have failed in doing so. In my defense, 2022 has seen me darting back and forth across the Midlands like a headless chicken.
Being a photographer at so many weddings meant that I gave up on the concept of sleep over the summer, survived mainly on wedding cake and have had everyone in my house forget what I look like. With that said, my getting to spend so much time with some amazing couples on their wedding day certainly more than makes up for all that, especially when their friends and family are as fun and chilled as they are.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings at Barns, Manor Houses, Boutique Hotels, Farms, Marquees, Tipis and even a Castle. From Worcestershire to Shropshire and Staffordshire to The Cotswolds, 2022 has been somewhat of a blur, but in a good way. A very good way.
It’s a lot of hard work having this much fun as a wedding photographer, y’know?
Away from the camera, I have been inspired on a daily basis by our little boy. Sam turned one in October and in the short time that he has been on this earth, he’s had a hell of a run with open heart surgeries, an emergency gastro surgery and respiratory issues. He’s kicked more ass in the last year and a bit than I ever will in my entire life, and that’s why that little heart warrior is my hero. Even an allergy to cow’s milk protein and lactose intolerance couldn’t keep this kid down, whereas the thought of not being able to have semi-skimmed milk in my tea sends chills down my spine!
Why did I pull the curtain back a bit? Well, it would be rude for me to ask you to tell me about yourselves and not share anything about me, wouldn’t it?
