Ettington Park Hotel Wedding Photography
I love an Irish accent. I know that’s a really odd way to start a blog post about Wedding Photography at Ettington Park Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, but I just do. My old man was an Irishman and I have fond memories of all my visits to the Emerald Isle both as a kid and as an adult so when I stepped into Dominika & Michael’s house to photograph the Bridal Prep and was greeted with Irish accents from both Dominika and her Bridesmaid, Stephanie, it bought back such good memories.
As soon as I stepped inside the house, I was greeted by the Doggo! As a big fan of dogs, my instinct was to fuss away but I was there to take some photos, so I had to make the grown-up decision and do some photography. Photographing this Bridal Prep was a lot of fun – both Dominika & Stephanie are nurses, and hearing some of the stories that they had to tell as they got ready for the wedding was thoroughly entertaining.
Upstairs was Dominika’s princess-like Wedding Dress and, as you can imagine, it took both Stephanie and Dominika’s mom to help get the Bride ready to go. After grabbing some really nice photos, it was time to jump into the car to get to the ceremony venue for this wedding, St. Mary Immaculate Church in Warwick, where I caught up with Michael, some of the early arriving guests and Dan from Daniel Yates Films. Not too long after, Dominika arrived in an Austin Sheerline for a beautiful ceremony in a spectacular church.
After the I Do’s were said and done, it was off to Ettington Park Hotel in Warwickshire for the drink’s reception and canapés. Ettington Park Hotel is a Gothic Mansion built from six types of Cotswold stone in the heart of a 40 acre estate that is an amazing place to photograph a wedding. Apparently it’s haunted too!
Even though this was a rainy Monday afternoon in October, that did not deter Dominika & Michael from being up for a wander around the grounds to get some great portraits. Armed with just an umbrella and a can-do attitude, I managed to capture some really nice photos of just the two of them before we went back inside for the Wedding Breakfast and speeches.
One more wander around to photograph a few night-time portraits before we were back upstairs in Ettington Park’s Long Gallery for the big wedding party. Dominika & Michael had been practicing a twirl all day and it was a great moment when they bust that move out during the first dance. From there, it was a great party into the night to perfectly round off their wedding.
Muchas Gracias to the man himself, Darren Gair from The Last Of The Light, for inviting me along as his second photographer to this incredibly fun wedding. Check out some of my favourites from the day below and if your boss doesn’t mind a bit of a soundtrack, crank your speakers up loud for the slideshow.
