Blackwell Grange Wedding Photography
Earlier this year, I was back as a wedding photographer at the stunning Cotswold venue of Blackwell Grange in Shipston-on-Stour. Blackwell Grange is one of my favourite venues to photograph, and to be back there to capture Charlotte & Toby’s wedding was a hell of a lot of fun.
With the sun shining, I rocked up to The Potting Shed at Blackwell Grange to find…nobody! For possibly the first time in the history of weddings, this wedding photographer turned up to the Bridal prep room before the Bridal party. No matter, as it gave me a chance to wander around and reacquaint myself with the grounds (an act often mistaken with ‘look busy so I don’t look like a fool’).
I wasn’t left on my lonesome for too long though – Charlotte and the girls all arrived, and the preparations were underway. Makeup was in the hands of the amazing Jessica Rose, while the hair was being handled by the lovely (and crime podcast aficionado) Lauren Gosling. It wasn’t just the girls being prepped though, as the Thatch Barn and Orchard Barn were having the finishing touches added, with flowers being provided by Stephanie Saunders.
As the ceremony approached, it was time for Charlotte to slip into her beautiful dress from Brides of Berkhamstead. After an emotional dress reveal to Charlotte’s dad, Ian, there were a few photos of the Bridal party before we made our way over to the Thatch Barn for the ceremony.
Waiting patiently was the man of the hour, Toby, who looked incredibly dapper in his blue suit. The ceremony was a wonderful affair held in front of Charlotte & Toby’s nearest and dearest, with readings, laughter, a few tears and lots of love on display. With the vows completed, rings exchanged and paperwork signed, everyone then made their way onto the cider lawn.
During the drinks reception, I collared Charlotte and Toby for a short portraits session before we all went into the Orchard Barn for the wedding breakfast and to hear tales of what Charlotte was like growing up, as well as some of Toby’s past indiscretions.
With the food heartily eaten and the stories told, Charlotte and Toby were out again for a sunset portraits session before we headed back into the Orchard Barn to cut the cake, and the big party! Matt from Dancefloor DJs & Events kept the floor rocking all night, and guests danced their shoes off!
Of course, I couldn’t leave Blackwell Grange without getting a couple of silhouettes now, could I?
