Jodie & Kurt’s Wedding Photography in Bromyard

Bredenbury Court Barns Wedding Photography

Being a Bredenbury Court Barns wedding photographer for Jodie & Kurt was another first for me, and I’m going to pull back the curtain to reveal why.

Simply put, it’s sod’s law!

No joke. When a venue is a long drive from home, you can pretty much guarantee that I’m there on a regular basis. However, if a venue is less than an hour away, then I appear at those wedding venues rarer than rocking horse wotsits. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining at all – I love traveling far and wide to spend the day with awesome people. That extra hour in bed though….ooofff!

That brings us to the Bromyard wedding venue that is Bredenbury Court Barns. This 18th Century house has been restored into one of the best wedding venues in Herefordshire, and that’s no hyperbole. The Oak Barn is a wonderful contrast of rustic oak timber and contemporary glazed walls. The natural light in The Orangery is fantastic (nerdy wedding photographer talk alert), and The Atrium gives you all a great place to chill whilst admiring the long ranging views of the estate.

Earlier this year, I was Jodie & Kurt’s Bredenbury Court Barns wedding photographer, but I was not alone. That’s right – the wedding photographer bromance was brought to life once again! I was working alongside Mat James Photography, and to say that we had an amazing day would be an understatement.

Getting Ready Wedding Photos in Bromyard

Mat and I rocked up to hang around the car park for a bit. Not because we’re weirdos. Ok…partially because we’re weirdos, but mostly because Jodie and the girls started their pampering session at the on-site accommodation at Bredenbury Court Barns. Jodie and her seven bridesmaids were soon to make their way over to The Beauty Booth, so Mat & I caught up with fellow suppliers and captured some details while we waited.

White Fern Weddings were in charge of styling, and what a fantastic job they did too! We also got to meet Thomas from Our Big Day On Film. With two photographers and a videographer, there was certainly a production crew in place, so Mat & I had to make sure that we stayed under the radar.

We didn’t get a chance to take our time though, as Jodie rocked up with her bridal squad. The silky make-up skills of Elle Sutton were in full flow while Mat and I did our thing – took photos and provided banter bordering on inappropriate. It wasn’t too long before Kurt rocked up with his brother/Best Man so they can start getting ready in The Stag Retreat. Mat had the Bridal prep covered, so I broke off to spend time with the lads.

Wedding Ceremony Photography in Herefordshire

With go time approaching, the Bridal squad looked stunning, and the Groomsmen looked like men wearing tuxedos.  I joke of course – handsome men, every one of them.  With everybody dressed accordingly, it was time to make this union official.  I’m going to be honest with you, this ceremony nearly got a tear from this Bredenbury Court Barns wedding photographer.  There were emotional moments, happy tears, and fits of laughter – pretty much exactly what you’d want a wedding ceremony to be.

With the rings exchanged, paperwork signed and confetti thrown, it was time to make our way to The Atrium for drinks and nibbles.  Friends and family caught up whilst enjoying the views.  No time for relaxing though, as this Bredenbury Court Barns wedding photographer was kept very busy during this time.  Jodie & Kurt invited 120 of their nearest and dearest to celebrate their big day with them.  That meant that I could get lots of candid wedding photography at Bredenbury Court Barns of people who didn’t realise that I was there (AKA the best kind of wedding photos)!

There was a palpable joyous and fun feeling in the air, and that atmosphere was perfectly complimented by Benjammin Sax.  Ben provided the soundtrack to the drink’s reception, and he certainly enhanced what was a fun afternoon.

Bredenbury Court Barns Wedding Photographer Portraits

Just before the wedding breakfast, Mat and I joined forces with Thomas to capture some epic portraits of Jodie & Kurt. Jodie & Kurt clearly wanted natural wedding photos, and I think that it’s fair to say that we nailed that! These two were so natural in front of the camera, and their laughter was infectious. They even made this Bredenbury Court Barns wedding photographer lose his shit at one point!

With Mat & I bagging those natural wedding photos, we all made our way back inside for the wedding breakfast in The Oak Barn. Guests tucked into a splendid meal before being entertained by some fantastic speeches. More tears and more laughter meant more great moments to capture for me.

Night Time Wedding Photography at Bredenbury Court Barns

With The Oak Barn being turned around for the evening festivities, I grabbed Jodie & Kurt one last time for a silhouette (be honest – you’re not surprised, are you?). Silhouette wedding photos are fun to do, only take a few seconds and adds something a little bit different to the gallery. They also make epic social media profile pics, if that’s your kinda thing.

Back inside, Jodie & Kurt plunged a knife into their wedding cake made by Cotton & Crumbs before taking centre stage for their first dance. It wasn’t too long before guests piled onto the dance floor. With Entertainment Solutions spinning the tunes, guests danced into the night to top off an incredible day.

Herefordshire Wedding Photographer

I had a lot of fun being Jodie & Kurt’s Bredenbury Court Barns wedding photographer alongside Mat. The newlyweds obviously come from very close families who love to celebrate. For their wedding day, Jodie & Kurt’s nearest and dearest did them proud and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their day.
