Aimee & Andy’s Wedding Photographer in Burton-on-Trent

Hanbury Barns Wedding Photography

2023 is done and dusted, and now we are embarking on 2024. With that in mind, my first Blog of the year will see me jump back to Aimee & Andy’s wedding at Hanbury Barns in Staffordshire. Hanbury Barns is a stunning venue that has been lovingly restored with weddings in mind, creating that balance of rustic and stylish. I do enjoy shooting at the Best Day Ever family of venues, with The Mill Barns popping up on this Blog a few times in the past. All of their venues are beautiful and incredibly well run, so it was a real pleasure to have been the Hanbury Barns wedding photographer for Aimee & Andy’s special day.

Bridal Prep Photos In Staffordshire

On the morning of the wedding, I rocked up to The Dressing Room to catch up with Aimee and her Bridal squad. There was a lot going on, with Hayley Evans on makeup and Aimee herself on hair duties! There was also a leather jacket on a hanger…we better get that in the photos later, thought I! Meanwhile, in the most chilled way possible, Andy and the boys were getting suited and booted in the Guest Pods.

With go time approaching, Aimee eased into her stunning wedding dress from Heavenly Wedding Belles before stepping out of The Dressing Room to find her Dad waiting for her. That was one of those moments that really got this wedding photographer in the feels.

Ceremony & Drinks Reception Photos in Burton-on-Trent

Over in the Ceremony Barn – which had been wonderfully decorated by 1st Impression, complemented with flowers from Aimee (yet another job she nailed!) – Andy was waiting patiently with all the guests for the arrival of the bride. Aimee didn’t make everybody wait too long though, and the ceremony itself was probably one of the happiest wedding ceremonies that I have every witnessed (and the bar for that standard is very high!). With the I dos uttered and the rings exchanged, everyone covered the new Mr. & Mrs. with confetti as they exited the barn. With that done, it was time for drinks and nibbles.

Aimee, Andy and their loved ones certainly made the most of the amazing spaces that Hanbury Barns has to offer – some were chilling in The Roost, others leaned against the bar and when it wasn’t raining, quite a few guests sauntered outside to enjoy the courtyard. Providing the soundtrack was none other than Tom Hawkins, complementing the relaxed atmosphere while the canapes were getting devoured, and the drinks were getting chugged.

Hanbury Barns Wedding Breakfast & Party Photos

With everyone having caught up, the wedding party made their way into the Wedding Breakfast Barn for the three course wedding breakfast, followed by some incredibly entertaining speeches.

After the food was consumed but before the party commenced, it was time to get Aimee into that bad-ass leather jacket and get some portraits of the newlyweds. Aimee & Andy took full advantage of the spaces available to us, and I think you’ll certainly agree that these two nailed it! These guys really made my job very easy as their Hanbury Barns wedding photographer.

After getting those great photos, we headed to The Party Barn for the evening’s festivities. After cutting the cake made by – you guessed it – Aimee (no joke – this girl can do it all, I tells ya!), the newlyweds took to the dance floor with their daughters for the first dance. With Paul & Lee from Wedding Sounds in charge of all things party, guests rocked the dance floor at Hanbury Barns into the night. Before I made my escape, I did have to grab Aimee & Andy one last time to do a couple of my signature silhouettes.

I’m an absolute sucker for weddings like this: fun, relaxed and being surrounded by folk who know how to enjoy themselves, so a big thank you to Aimee & Andy for picking me to provide their Hanbury Barns wedding photography. Below you can see some of my favourite photos from the day.
